Hi,
I am a retired Priest with the Anglican Church of Canada. I am also a wife, mother and grandmother and love being so.
I was ordained in 2007 and served in Full-time Parish Ministry for 18 years, retiring first at the end of 2021, returning to full-time ministry in 2022, and now retiring again in 2025. So this is my second try at retirement! While 18 years may seem a short-time in the ministry, it is not if you count the many years I served in ministry as a Lay person, while also working full-and part time for most of my life as will as being a full-time Mother to my two sons in the earlier years. Right now however I am at a place in my life, where I felt a need to not put ministry aside, because I think you can’t ever really do that, but to focus more on my own well-being, to slow down and so needed to make a change. That change for me was to retire, and give more focus to self-care, and see what else life has in store for me. For I believe and trust there is always another part of the journey yet to be revealed.
I am also an avid photographer, mostly landscape and nature photography. A passion that I discovered while in the ministry actually; finding to take the camera and go, I not only enjoyed photography but found it to be a very spiritual exercise. I also enjoy quilting, and gardening. So I hope to share some of that with you here as well as reflecting on the scripture, as I said earlier, I may be retired, but the passion is still there.
I hope you will come back and check out what I have to say, and please leave a comment when you do, and share my posts, I appreciate hearing from you, and I will respond when you do.
Take Care, blessings
